Taking place in New York City in 1922, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behaviour were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE includes a full score of memorable songs and bright dance numbers. Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady of a villainess that audiences will love to hate, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment. And with the role of Millie Dillmount, musical theatre found a new heroine for the ages.

Working with a dynamic, talented cast of 31 actors, dancers and singers all under the age of 30, with a dozen competent individuals making up creative-production-technical teams, mostly under the age of 30, throw in a 15 piece live orchestra, all under the age of 30, it all adds up to a wonderful adventure.

It takes place at the Louise Chalmers Theatre, attached to the side of John Rennie High, School on 501 St. Jean, Pointe Claire. By car: get off the 20 at St. Jean North, pass a shopping centre on your right and two lights later, turn right onto Douglas Shand. It’s right across the street. Plenty of parking at the school or in front of the theatre just to your right and a bit behind the school building. By public transit: Take the 211 express bus from Lionel Groulx Metro. Get off at the Dorval Terminus. Take the 203 bus (it runs every ½ hour) and stops in front of the Pointe Claire Library. Cross the street and go a bit to your right behind the school, and there’s the theatre. Show dates are on the poster attachment.
