Inaugural Montréal Arts Interactive Showcase

The launch of the wordswrittenwrite.com website at the new Mainline Theatre in the heart of the Plateau is the impetus for several groups within the arts community to get together to show their wares to the public and local businesses.

The purpose of the event is to highlight arts networks in Montreal for those interested in local work, while also enjoying a unique Business Networking opportunity.

M.A.S.T. (The Montreal Alternative Season of Theatre), The Invisible Cities Artists’ Network, and Dum Blond Productions (the producers of Sex in La Cité) have joined forces at this information session, networking opportunity, and arts fair presented by wordswrittenwrite.com - a new business tool and communications service.

Meet Gabrielle Soskin, Director of Persephone Productions, who will be talking about her hot new play, PRODIGY. Details at:
http://www.invisiblecitiesnetwork.org/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=95

Organisers hope to hold these events on a regular basis and to see them grow with increasing public involvement. Those interested in contacting any of the artist’s networks involved can find out more at the following web site

ELAN invites all Quebec artists and writers to fill out an ONLINE SURVEY

Author: Christina - Published 2011-02-14 16:33 - (4386 Reads)

The English-Language Arts Network launched a survey last week to gather information about the lives and needs of English-speaking artists and cultural workers in Quebec.

It's just 28 questions and takes about 10 minutes to fill out. Your experience is of great importance to help us understand the diversity of culture and conditions in Quebec.

Furthermore, any help you can offer in attracting input from other artists/cultural workers is equally valuable. I am hoping you will encourage your contacts and networks to participate, or help me to reach other organizations/networks that can offer similar assistance.

Introducing the book: Letters to a Young Therapist, by Vincenzo Di Nicola,

Author: Christina - Published 2011-02-10 20:29 - (5732 Reads)

Di Nicola is a true master of constructive inquiry, synthesis, and brilliant creativity. Memorable aphorisms leap from every page of this very wise, thoughtful, and beautifully written book in which the healing process of discovering and making meaning to help reorder the minds and lives of troubled persons is clarified. I highly recommend this book for all those who are or who would be therapists.

Presenting: Aladdin by the Left of Centre Theatre Company, 19 Feb - 6 March 2011

Author: Christina - Published 2011-01-01 13:57 - (7276 Reads)

Aladdin

Left of Centre Theatre Company, we are very pleased to announce our next show Aladdin by James Barry and directed by Simone Nichol.

Aladdin is delights the audience with all the traditional theatrical conventions that is unique to pantomime - audience participation, the usual slapstick moments, the very risqué double entendres and the outrageous (cross-dressing) with the Dame.

Christine Long of CTV recommends the production. Aladdin + British Panto = a fun interactive show for kids and their grown-ups. Watch a video clip at:
