The Intentional Dreams Productions Company is a not-for-profit bilingual Film and Theatre production company. Its creation is born of the initiative and strong desire of Gilles Plouffe and of a group of actors, Julie Barbeau, Luiza Cocora, Jean-Paul Figasso, Cindy François, Valérie Gagnon-Laniel, Owain Harris, Liza Stekolnikova, Leigh Ann Taylor, all passionate about the Realistic School of Acting.
The work phylosophy and spirit of the company is inspired by a method called the Organic Creative Process created by John Strasberg.
The company has an integrated mandatory weekly training program with regular showcase presentations. Members also consistently continue to study realistic acting with Gilles Plouffe and/or Mr Strasberg. This way the members are constantly growing, developing and improving their skills in the application of their artistic creative process.
The company generates work opportunities for its members by creating, developing and producing Theatre and Film projects.
Basic Training__
This is a place where actors train and work with "Realistic Acting." The trainer will be teaching basic preparation technique, sense memory, song & dance and private moment exercises, organic script analysis, scene improvisation and scene study. You will work on techniques to develop concentration and imagination, to actualize whatever reality you imagine and to allow energy to flow freely through your mind and body so that you can direct it into whatever you focus on in an imaginary world. You will learn to increase the level of realism in your scene work. Actors will work individually during exercises and in pairs during scene work. This workshop applies to all levels, from beginner to advanced actors.
Scene Work With Gilles Plouffe
This is a scene study workshop. Actors will be paired-up and present a scene to Mr. Plouffe. Participants can work with scenes from either a script or a play. During the work session Mr. Plouffe establishes an interactive dialogue that helps each artist get involved in the world of the character using his "Realistic Acting technique." At the end of the presentation, he discusses the work that has been done and will sum it up with his point of view. The working artist will be encouraged and guided to develop his/her own personal artistic creative work process. Ultimately, every artist possesses his/her own unique creative process.
Acting For The Camera with Gilles Plouffe
This workshop focuses on developing the actor's ability to apply realistic believable acting while also learning to adjust the acting form to serve the technical needs of the on-set camera and crew. You will work on audition technique and you will also be paired-up to work and present a scene. Up to two cameras will be operating and participants can bring a VHS tape and record their work for a future analysis and study at home. During the work sessions the Trainer establishes an interactive dialogue that helps each artist get involved in the world of the character using the "Realistic Acting technique." The working artist will be encouraged and guided to develop his/her own work process
