Jeremy Hechtman led the fight to regain use of the space after the City looked to close it this year. The Fringe won back the Beer Garden and is continuing its support of local artists by allowing the Showcase to be hosted there.

"As part of the Fringe, the (Showcase) is an interesting idea…and (the Park) is to the benefit and satisfaction of both the festival’s fans and local residents. "

Special guests include local celebrity N.A.T Grant, author of the "Race" series of thrillers; Nan Snipper, Bluegrass singer and author; Aida Fokas of Dundee Private Investors; and local author and publisher Christina Manolescu, Leader of the Invisible Cities Network. The purpose of the event is to highlight arts networks and introduce local businesses in Montreal for those interested in a unique networking experience.

"A wonderful event, especially as it is Father’s Day, to introduce emerging local artists, writers and musicians into the public eye, and our group looks forward to the flow of visitors to the Park", said Ms Manolescu.
