While a program host at CKUT radio, Jack authored the 15-part radio drama, "The Overpass Enquiry."

Jack's political experience includes running for the Green Party in the 1997 federal election. In addition, Jack was runner-up in Calgary's 1992 mayoralty election.

A relative newcomer to Montreal, Jack founded the Verdun Poets Group in 2004 to encourage the practice and participation in this art. He has participated in Westmount's Poetry in The Park, and was a volunteer in the Indonesian Relief fundraising effort to help victims of the devastating 2006 earthquake. He is also a proud member of ‘Co-op La Maison Verte.’

An avid cyclist, this past summer Jack and his partner, artist Karen Spencer, cycled the Route Verte to Granby (and back). They are also committed to organic agriculture and participate in a local Community Supported Agriculture initiative.

A strong opponent of capital punishment, Jack currently spearheads a campaign to repatriate Ron Smith from Montana's death row.
